About Silk

Silk is one of the most luxurious and comfortable fabrics to wear.  The fabric is absorbent and naturally moisture wicking. Furthermore, silk will not mildew despite being so absorbent.  Silk is cool in the summer yet warm in the winter.   Silk is also very durable and is one of the strongest natural fabrics.  It will withstand tugging and pulling.  The smooth surface of the material means it won't attract dirt and grim and will remain clean throughout your travels.

How to Wash Silk Fabric

Wash your silk money belt in luke warm water with a little bit of mild soap. Let the money belt soak for 5 or 10 minutes.  Lightly rub stains with soap.  Be careful not to rub too hard because this will damage the fabric.

Rinse with three parts water and one part vinegar to remove soap and to restore shine.

Rinse again with cold water.

Place your money belt in an absorbent towel, roll it up and gently ring the water out.  Lay flat to dry.

TIP: If you get a stain on your money belt, gently wash it as soon as possible with a baby wipe or luke warm water.  The faster you remove the stain the less likely it is to settle and become permanent.
